- Description
- The atomistic ontology is an EMMO-based ontology for atomistic and electronic modelling. It depends on EMMO and the crystallography domain ontology.

- Based on standards
- Used by
- It was initially developed in the MarketPlace project and reused in BIG-MAP and in a Norwegian centre for physical metallurgy (SFI PhysMet )
- Methodology used
- Developed as an easy human readable and git-friendly Python file from which the turtle file is generated. For each push, CI/CD tests for EMMO-compliance are run on the generated turtle file.
The development group consists of 4 people with domain expertise in atomistic modelling and experience in ontology development.
The ontologisation of crystal structures were factored out into a separate crystallography domain ontology, which is imported by this ontology.
